Leighton Schnell is an engineer who has been playing, modifying, and repairing guitars for nearly 20 years. He began designing his prototype guitar over seven years ago.
He was in search of an instrument that would be as delicate and expressive as a hollowbody archtop jazz guitar with the ability to remain crisp and clear at high gain levels and stage volumes. His guitar needed to have two full, useable octaves and it had to be equally comfortable to play while gigging or practicing on the couch.
